Funny,
but a Category 4 hurricane is growing closer to us. It’s rampaging the
lands of Cuba right now. I’ve been working steadily all day trying to
catch up since TS Cindy put us back a few days as well. I’m sitting in
this office making calls to clients, following up with them, emailing
proposals and creating new marketing materials.
We have plans to head out to Baton Rouge if we have to do so. I told my friends in DC and LA that I might just fly there, so I can have a somewhat real vacation…make it count!!!
Anyway, I’m in here tapping on my laptop. Outside these walls, people are in half panic mode. Most want to leave, but don’t want to deal with the BS traffic that happened during Ivan. Gas stations are piled up and the customers are extra pissed off because the owners have hiked the prices during this time. I wonder if any of the owners realize that if they kept prices low, then they’d be different and probably run those tanks under the ground dry. I guess it’s just business. Others are gathering their elderly or disabled thinking how unlucky they are because they have to evacuate due to electricity needs. It’s so peaceful in here and chaotic out there. In my mind, it’s like a movie. I’m in here working/typing and others are out there running away from the aliens trying to zap them from the sky.
My girlfriend and I had an argument this morning and that is really bothering me. Is that selfish?
