New Blogs

I finally got around to completing two blogs I’d actually started about a month before Katrina hit.  I strongly considered keeping them private; not because I didn’t want people to see them but because I didn’t think anyone would be interested.  Finally, I thought I’d share them.  These are two more pieces of a larger puzzle for Connexxions that I’m putting together.  I have a vision for it and this is another step towards it.

The first is called Q-Marxx.  Since high school, I have kept a list of quotations that do something for me.  However, I could never seem to find the time or convenience to look back at them when I needed and/or wanted to do so.  I tried to developing code to pop random quotes up on my screen during the day.  However, it didn’t really achieve what I was looking for, which was to be able to comment and write down why I like the quote.  This seemed like the most logical way.  I’m going to try to update this once every morning.

The second is called Exxcerpts.  I would say sometime in college, while working on my political science degree, I learned to research well.  Now, whenever I read books or magazines, I’m constantly highlighting and underlining in hope that I can possibly remember and utilize what I read about it.  Basically, I needed an external hard drive to store all the things I read and want to
remember. This is the only way I could think of to get this information within easy access of my brain.  I tried several things in the past such as scanning articles into a database.  The various ideas were all too time consuming and/or took up too much physical space.  Again, this seemed to be the most logical way.  I will probably post on this about twice a week.

The best thing to do for both is to subscribe using RSS.  That way you don’t have to physically go to the site everytime.  If you have any comments or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to email me.
